Mecalu and Mecalu+
are high strength Al- alloys known for their high performance in certain areas of mold applications. Their typical application includes Blow Molding, Foam molding, Vacuum Forming, Rubber Molding and Injection Molding.

These aluminium alloys are increasingly used over Steel for its inherent properties compared to steel such as 1/3rd density, high machinability, fourfold thermal conductivity and superior corrosion resistance.

Properties
Thermal condivity 4 times higher than steel, very good machiablilty with excellent surface finish, very good stability with high mechanical strength. Resist all currently used plastics, therefore not necessarliy need surface treatment. Can be anodised: please contact us.
Applications
Mechanical parts with high strength, heating plates, machine tables. Bottom plates for stamping or cutting transfer tools. Plastic moulds depending on injected materials: standard production or pilot production. All type of production: blowing, injection, thermo-compression, injection-blowing, deep vacuum stamping, etc.
